- 1️⃣ Preheat Oven:
- Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 15x10x1-inch pan with non-stick spray or line with parchment.
- 2️⃣ Cream Butter & Sugar:
- In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3️⃣ Add Eggs & Extracts:
- Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts.
- 4️⃣ Combine Dry Ingredients:
- In another bowl, whisk flour and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- 5️⃣ Assemble Bars:
- Spread 3 cups of batter evenly into the prepared pan. Spoon cherry pie filling over the batter and spread evenly. Drop spoonfuls of the remaining batter on top of the cherry layer.
- 6️⃣ Bake:
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. If using a 9x13 pan, it may take longer.
- 7️⃣ Cool:
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before glazing.
- 8️⃣ Prepare Glaze:
- In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, almond extract, and milk until smooth.
- 9️⃣ Glaze & Serve:
- Drizzle glaze over cooled bars, allow it to set, then cut into squares and enjoy!
