Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

  • Peanut Butter Filling or Poke Mix
  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter ½ melted + 1½ for frosting/filling
  • 1 14‑oz can sweetened condensed milk (optional for poke version)
  • Peanut Butter Frosting
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 10 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream
  • Optional Decorations
  • 1 cup chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups
  • 1 cup Reese’s Pieces

Method

  2. Prepare and Bake the Cake: Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare the cake batter as directed on the box, optionally folding in ½ cup melted peanut butter. Bake for 25–30 minutes and let cool.
  3. Choose Your Style: For poke cake, poke holes and pour in warmed peanut butter-condensed milk mixture. For layer cake, frost between layers with peanut butter.
  4. Make the Frosting: Beat peanut butter and butter until smooth, then mix in powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt. Add cream until spreadable.
  5. Assemble: Spread frosting over cooled cake. Garnish with Reese’s cups and pieces.
  6. Serve: Chill 30 mins or serve at room temp. Optionally top with extra toppings.
